DEATH & LIFE

DEATH & LIFE is an essay/art-house film produced in June and July of 2017 and completed in October 2017. Inspired by the philosophical arguments of Jane Jacobs and Eric's own experiences living in New York, filmmaker Eric Norcross has created a film that explores the dream of living in a world-class city pitted against the hard realities.

The Film:

Michael Bailey plays "The Artist", the central character and narrator. The Artist has been living in a city on a planet far away from Earth and has grown increasingly disenchanted by the reality of living in the infamous "Great City". The Artist goes on a mission to find the purpose behind the questionable city planning.

DEATH & LIFE is a political and sociological commentary wrapped in a visual essay that is both a critique of the city and the art world. It is both a love-letter to urban chaos and a warning of what happens when we don't get it right.
