Lipstick Lies is an intriguing sci-fi short from experimental filmmaker Eric Norcross. It plays very much like a classic “Twilight Zone” episode, where one person’s memory of a specific event doesn’t match everyone else’s. Is the person a lunatic or is there a more sinister reason behind this puzzling disappearance? Can memories become reality? With Lipstick Lies, Norcross explores the themes of destiny and providence. The film is intelligent and well thought out and kept me involved.

The film benefits from good performances from Samantha Rivers Cole and Matthew Krob who make a physically appealing couple.

To his credit, Norcross does not go for the obvious or the maudlin. He has Allie thinking with her head throughout.

Rogue Cinema

UNSETTLING: Waking to an alternate reality and having to backtrack to rediscover the chosen past. Deja vu is the way. Covers a lot in 30 minutes. -Prescott, Amazon Verified Purchase

INTERESTING: Interesting. I had to watch it to the end to find out what happened. -John, Amazon Verified Purchase

FROM A FRIEND: I sincerely Believe that this is by far your Most Accomplished work to date. No, that is Not an overstatement. Every facet of this piece shows the time and care you have put into it. Thank you Eric. Your writing is at the top of its game as well. I found myself falling into the screen in front of me during many parts. Excellent Work My Friend. Thank You Again For This. I Appreciate It Greatly.   -Branden, Maine

FROM A FESTIVAL DIRECTOR: You have a gift for dealing with romantic subjects. I normally shy away from them. This is the second of your films that I've watched, the first being Caroline of Virginia. You are giving me an appreciation for this genre. You are a filmmaker with a reel handle on this.   -David, Michigan

FROM A SEASONED FILM INDUSTRY PROFESSIONAL: You really know how to work those emotional topics. Really gets me worked up.
