In July 2019, Eric began a restoration project in preparation for the 20th anniversary of the film (coming up in 2022). Because the movie was shot on standard definition video, a great deal of outside-the-box thinking, craftsmanship, and artistry has been implemented into a complex, and time-consuming workflow. As of August 1, 2019, the majority of the original miniDV raw footage had been "captured" and was in the process of assembly.

On July 7, 2020, the. restoration was completed with the delivery of the final audio master, integrated into the project file, and rendered.

Eric screened the restoration one year from the anniversary of the Spar Premiere, in August 2022, at the Community Center in the Town of Long Island, Maine.
